The Your Weston Park project has now come to an end. Eventus would like to thank everyone who has contributed to the Your Weston Park project by sharing their many memories and lovely photographs - this website and the booklet would not have been possible without you! We would also like to thank BBC Radio Sheffield, Sheffield Galleries & Museums Trust, and the Sheffield Star for helping us to collect so many wonderful stories.
Join in
The project has now come to an end and we are no longer collecting your stories about the park.
You can still read a selection of the stories and images we collected during the project on this website and in the Your Weston Park: a living history booklet, which is being distributed by Sheffield City Council Parks and Countryside.
Your stories
You can read people’s stories on the ‘Your Stories’ page. These pages contain stories and photographs of Sheffield’s Weston Park collected from park users, including visitors and staff from the University, Hospitals and Museum.
Audio clips
You can listen to people’s memories on the ‘Audio Clips’ page. Our Community Interviewers, Claire Bland and Anne Hall, recorded interviews with the Weston Park
Gardeners and visitors to the Party in the Park on 30 May 2007.
We also worked closely with BBC Radio Sheffield. They interviewed the Park's staff and visitors, and Rony Robinson hosted a phone-in during his show on Tuesday 17 July 2007.
'Your Weston Park' News
The Your Weston Park project ended in October 2007. For news about the park and its restoration, please see www.westonpark.org.uk
‘Your Weston Park’ Booklet
A selection of the stories and images collected are included in a booklet about Weston Park, published in October 2007. The information is used to inform interpretation panels in the Park. Thank you to everyone that helped us to create this record of why Weston Park is so special to so many people.
