How long have you worked for the charity?
What role were you in before joining the charity?
I was an Upper GI Clinical Nurse Specialist for the previous 8 years, working initially at the Hallamshire and then at the Northern General when the whole service transferred over to there around 2010.
What do you enjoy most about working at the charity?
Working with an amazing team whom I consider friends and not just work colleagues. We all share the same work ethic and values. Patients/client’s needs always come first.
What is an activity/hobby that you have started doing during lockdown?
I have explored local footpaths and walks close to home. I am lucky to have some beautiful countryside nearby. On my days off when the sun has been shining, armed with a flask and rucksack I have ventured out and found lots of new trails.
What are you most looking forward to doing after lockdown?
Going out for a meal with friends and family.
What’s the best advice you have ever been given?
‘Always remember that you are unique – just like everybody else’.
What helps you the most when you are having a difficult day?
Going out for a walk or going for a swim. Alternatively, just spending time with friends and family.
