What role were you in before joining the charity?
Haematology Oncology Nurse at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital.
What do you enjoy most about working at the charity?
The team support and camaraderie, and our mutual vision, enthusiasm, and energy to improve and enhance the lives of all those affected by cancer.
What is an activity/hobby that you have started doing during lockdown?
I’ve always been a nature lover, but I have taken a much greater interest in all the birds, frogs and other wildlife that live in our garden and actively encourage them to make a home here.
What are you most looking forward to doing after lockdown?
Meeting family and friends and trying to retrieve some ‘normality’ and, when possible… a hug!!
What’s the best advice you have ever been given?
“So, what are you going to do… sink, or swim?”
What helps you the most when you are having a difficult day?
Going out into the garden and being mindful of nature, but also reminding myself of the difference that we make by being caring and supportive to cancer patients and their families.
