Chesterfield recruitment firm back Donate a Day for Cancer initiative
Local recruitment firm, Chase and Holland of Barlborough, Chesterfield are encouraging local businesses to Donate a Day for Cancer to celebrate World Cancer Day, on Sunday 4th February, and raise vital funds for Weston Park Cancer Charity.
Donate a Day for Cancer, which takes place throughout February and March, is an easy to support fundraiser which is much simpler than taking to the streets with collecting tins, sweating it out on sponsored runs or baking up a storm for cake sales and coffee mornings.
Simply by offering a portion of your wages from your days’ work you can help create a better life for those living with and beyond cancer. Weston Park is the region’s only specialist cancer hospital, providing care for thousands of patients across South Yorkshire, North Derbyshire and North Nottinghamshire. The Cancer Charity is commited to funding things that the NHS is not able to, in order to offer the best possible care to patients and their loved ones.
Speaking of the initiative, Bev Findlay, Director at Chase & Holland, commented; “When we were asked to take part, it was such a simple idea it was a no brainer. As our Charity of the Year, we have hosted a variety of fundraising activities for Weston Park Cancer Charity but we particularly liked this idea as it was so easy to take part and a great way to boost our ongoing fundraising target.”
“If you don’t fancy donating a whole day’s wages, then do what we did last year and just donate an hour. It all counts and we raised just under £200!”
From bake sales to 10ks and zipwires to fancy dress days, the team at Chase and Holland have united to raise over £2,900, to help Weston Park Cancer Charity create a better life for those living with and beyond cancer.
Bev Finlay added; “Cancer has an enormous affect on so many people, almost everyone we know is touched by the disease in some way. We have worked closely with Weston Park Cancer Charity throughout the year and would like to continue to support them with the amazing work they do. We recently visited the hospital and it really highlighted the important of fundraising and the difference it makes to so many. So what are you waiting for, sign up today and collectively we can make a huge difference to people fighting cancer locally.”
Taking part is easy! Simply pick a day throughout February and March and choose how much you’d like to donate from your wage. If you are an employer and would like to take part, or if you would like to nominate your organisation or work colleagues visit www.donateadayforcancer.org.uk
