‘Do it for me, do it for you. Do it for the one in two’ – businesses urged to join The Master Cutler’s Challenge for Weston Park Cancer Charity
Weston Park Cancer Charity is to be the main beneficiary of funds raised through the 2020 Master Cutler’s Challenge in what is a milestone year for Weston Park Cancer Centre, as it marks its 50th year of treating patients.
Every year, the Master Cutler presents businesses, organisations and groups of individuals who sign up, £50, to see how much they can turn that into for chosen charities.
Weston Park Cancer Charity CEO, Samantha Dixon said: “We’re delighted, that in the hospital’s 50th anniversary year, we have been chosen as the main beneficiary of the 2020 Master Cutler’s Challenge.
“We’re encouraging businesses across South Yorkshire, North Derbyshire and North Nottinghamshire to sign up for and attend the Master Cutler’s Challenge Launch Event on Thursday 27th February.”
At the inspiring event at Sheffield Cutler’s Hall, participating businesses will receive £50 from Master Cutler, Nick Williams. They will then have six months to turn it into as much money as possible using nothing but entrepreneurial skills, team spirit and sheer grit and determination.
Samantha commented: “Early interest has been very encouraging – and we were over the moon that first to sign up were our very own porters at the hospital. We’re really looking forward to seeing what everyone does.
“There’s lots of fundraising ideas on our website, and don’t forget to keep us up to date with your journey – we’d love to share your story and find out what your motivations are for taking part before we close the challenge and celebrate all your amazing achievements in autumn.”
