Happy Volunteers’ Week 2019

Happy Volunteers’ Week 2019!

Here at Weston Park Cancer Charity, we could not achieve our mission to create a better life for everyone living with cancer across our region, both now and in the future, without our fantastic team of fundraisers, administrators and healthcare professionals. Not to mention our tireless and dedicated volunteers, past and present.

I am honoured in my role as Volunteer Coordinator to recruit and manage this devoted and inspiring team, who volunteer their time in ways almost as diverse as the team itself; from bucket collections and getting out and about in the local community to welcoming visitors at the Weston Park Cancer Support Centre.

Our volunteers represent all sectors of the local and regional community and each has their own reason for volunteering. Some are able to give up a few hours a week, others lend a hand just once or twice a year, but the one thing our volunteers have in common is their willingness to donate the spare time they have to help others.

We are thankful for our volunteers every single day of the year, but this Volunteers’ Week we would like to take the time to recognise the huge difference our volunteers make to the lives of those affected by cancer and to say a very big THANK YOU.

Your support has enabled us to do so much more than would otherwise be possible and has helped us to make a real and positive difference to the lives of the patients and families we support.
