Weston Park Cancer Charity Race Evening
| Doncaster Racecourse | 2021 event postponed
It is with great regret that we have decided to not to go ahead with this year’s Weston Park Cancer Charity Race Evening at Doncaster Racecourse.
Despite many conversations with our friends at the racecourse we just felt it was too early in the easing of restrictions to hold the event on the 4th June.
The safety of our volunteers, supporters, suppliers and staff remains of paramount to us and therefore we have decided to cancel the event for a second year running due to the pandemic.
In a statement released by the charity, business development manager, Darren Hayes commented; “Like many of our sponsors, volunteers and race-goers, we’re really disappointed that this year’s Race Evening will not go ahead. Despite our best efforts, we can see no alternative at this stage. Every year, we come together to raise in excess of £50,000 for local families facing cancer so it’s no exaggeration to say that Covid-19 has had a huge impact on our ability to fundraise. Despite this, we’re working as hard as possible so that we can continue to be there for the one in two of us who will be diagnosed with cancer – together at every step. We will be working tirelessly to make the 2022 event our biggest and best yet and we will release details shortly so supporters can put the date in the diary as soon as possible.”
