Terms and Conditions – Walk as One
Both routes will be fully marshalled and trained first aiders will be present on the day. However all participants enter the event entirely at their own risk. Weston Park Cancer Charity shall not be liable for any injury or loss that might occur as a result of participation other than death or personal injury due to negligence.
Any participant unsure of their physical ability to take part in this event should receive medical advice from a General Practitioner prior to the event. It is the responsibility of the participant to ensure they are fit enough to complete their selected route.
Participants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.
There is no minimum participation age for either walk route however responsible adults are encouraged to carefully consider the physical capabilities of participating minors and choose an appropriate route distance for their fitness level.
The 10 mile longer route must be completed within a 5 hour time frame at which point marshal and first aid support will be withdrawn and any remaining participants will be invited to retire from the walk or continue entirely at their own risk.
All participants must write their name, details of an emergency contact and details of any health problems or medication being taken on the reverse of their participant card which must be worn on the day of the event.
Well behaved dogs are welcome to take part but must be kept on a lead and under strict control at all times. Weston Park Cancer Charity accepts no responsibility for dogs at this event.
We regret that due to the terrain the 10 mile route is not suitable for buggies or wheelchairs.
The 4 mile route takes place on paths and is suitable with appropriate care for buggies and wheelchairs however in parts the path may be uneven and weather conditions could cause mud or other obstacles of which Weston Park Cancer Charity will not take liability for.
By taking part, all participants confirm that they are happy for their names and footage or photographs taken during their participation in the race to be used to publicise the event and Weston Park Cancer Charity.
All participants have a legal responsibility to ensure that any sponsorship monies raised in connection with Weston Park Cancer Charity ‘Walk as One’ event must be passed on to Weston Park Cancer Charity.
Clearly identifiable official photographers and or videographers will be present on the day to capture the event in progress. Weston Park Cancer Charity reserves the right to use video footage and photography taken on the day for future publicity purposes. It is the responsibility of participants to alert official photographers or the charity if they do not want their image captured on the day.
Entry fee refunds will only be issued in the event of cancellation by the charity.
Weston Park Cancer Charity reserves the right to reschedule the event due to adverse weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances beyond its control.
Entry fees are subject to a small booking fee to enable the charity to cover administration costs.
A limited-edition t-shirt will be awarded to all participants who raise a minimum sponsorship of £50.00 each. To guarantee a t-shirt this sponsorship monies must be received by the charity by Friday 24th April 2020. T-shirts will be available to collect on the day of the event.
