Pentagon Drive Charity Partnership

Pentagon Drive Charity Partnership

Thank you to Pentagon Vauxhall Sheffield for making our charity partnership such an incredible success.

Since our partnership began in 2015, Pentagon has raised over £16,500 and the team have also handed over the keys to a number of brand-new vehicles, to ensure Weston Park Cancer Charity can continue to support life-changing projects and initiatives across South Yorkshire and beyond.

Amongst other things, the vehicles help to ensure our fundraisers are able to regularly access the outreach areas surrounding Sheffield [where many of Weston Park Cancer Centres patients live], attend fundraising events and help increase awareness of our work across the Sheffield City region.

“At Pentagon Vauxhall in Sheffield we have been proud supporters of Weston Park Cancer Charity for a number of years.” Says Catherine Cousins, New and Used Car Business Manager at Pentagon Motor Group.

“We chose them as our charity partner because of the fantastic work they do and the support they give to people across the region whose lives are affected by cancer.

“During our partnership and over the last two years, we have donated the use of new cars, to enable staff to get out and about in the community. Last year, it was a new Corsa Limited Edition and this year a Viva, which we pay for monthly on behalf of Weston Park Cancer Charity, totalling an approximate donation of £6550. ”

And that’s not all.

The team at the Saville Street-based dealership also regularly fundraise throughout the year and as a gesture of goodwill, consumers are able to make an optional £5 donation to Weston Park Cancer Charity when purchasing a vehicle.

“In addition to the above, our extremely generous customers have helped us to raise a total of nearly £5000 in the last year alone, from an optional donation they have the chance to give every time they purchase a car.

“Our customers are generally very happy to support the charity, as they invariably know someone who has been affected by the disease and/or received treatment at Weston Park hospital.

“We also support Weston Park Cancer Charity throughout the year by means of fundraising days, a charity football game organised by Keir Foster [one of our Service Customer Advisors] and by participating in the annual Christmas Jumper Day, where we also hold a bake sale to raise additional funds.

“We were very proud to present Darren Hayes from the charity with a cheque for over £3000 Weston Park Cancer Charity Christmas Jumper Day on December 14th 2018.”

It’s thanks to the dedication and determination of charity partners like Pentagon Sheffield that last year alone, Weston Park Cancer Charity were been able to:

  • Fund a brand new complementary therapy service at Chesterfield Hospital
  • Widen access to free health MOTs
  • Purchase 3D modelling equipment to enhance brain tumour research in partnership with The University of Sheffield
  • Launch a brand new men’s skin care workshop

“As a charity, all the fundraising we oversee makes a huge and lasting difference to the lives of thousands of patients and their families living with, and beyond, a cancer diagnosis across our region every year.” Says Darren Hayes, Business Development Manager at Weston Park Cancer Charity.

“Thank you to Pentagon and to everyone who has done something amazing for Weston Park Cancer Charity and has raised money for us by taking on a personal challenge, holding a bake sale or charity football match or even worn your most garish knitwear with pride.”
