Valuable Not Vulnerable

Valuable Not Vulnerable

Is it just me or are you worried about what winter may bring?

Over recent weeks I’ve enjoyed seeing people’s photos of their imaginative staycations, gained immense joy from pictures of children returning to school (complete with captions from relieved, nervous, exhausted parents).  But as a nip enters the air and the dog walks call for additional layers, my mind has ventured into the what ifs of winter.

As I mull over scenarios following the Government announcement earlier this week, I find my thoughts rest on those things that have been important since we closed our Cancer Support Centre back in March, just as the daffodils emerged.  And I guess that is what a global pandemic forces: absolute clarity on what is important and what’s not.

So there are two things that I will take with me and hold dear during the coming winter months; the first is my wonderful team – I will prioritise their wellbeing and resilience, I will listen to them and tell them regularly how vital they are. And my promise to the people we support is a simple one: we will always see you as

Valuable not Vulnerable, to us you and your loved ones will always be a thing of great worth.  So whatever lays ahead in the coming months, our charity will lead with its heart. #TogetherAtEveryStep
