Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
ACT is a powerful, scientifically based therapy proven to be successful in helping to improve the quality of life for people living with or recovering from cancer.
What is ACT?
Attending these sessions will provide you with skills in dealing with difficult thoughts and feelings more effectively, so they have less impact on your daily life.
A key part of this therapy involves learning these skills in a therapist led session and practising them at home between sessions. These sessions are ideal for anyone struggling with anxiety, negative thoughts and fear of recurrence following cancer treatment.
ACT aims to help you:
- Handle difficult thoughts and feelings
- Focus on what matters most
- Take small steps forward
What people say
"This course has been a huge step in my recovery."
“I have techniques to support my wellbeing when things feel tough.”
