Grant giving

At Weston Park Cancer Charity we aim to create the best life for everyone affected by cancer. A huge part of the way we do this is by giving grants to people and organisations who share our vision.

Giving grants to improve experiences and outcomes

We are proud to give grants and work with partner organisations to deliver services.

We provide grants for Weston Park Cancer Centre and its affiliates. This helps improve treatment and care provided to patients at the hospital.

We also work with other partners who provide services which benefit cancer patients, their families and their carers.

Types of grants

  1. Small grants
  2. Large grants
  3. Training & development grants

Purpose of our grants

In addition to our own services, the Charity also awards grants to enable research, enhance treatment and provide support for people affected by cancer at Weston Park Cancer Centre and in the surrounding area of South Yorkshire, North Derbyshire and Bassetlaw.

Research grants focus on projects which fall under one of the following areas:

  • Preventing cancer spread
  • Bringing new treatments to the clinic
  • Integrating modern imaging into patient care
  • Improving quality of life and the cancer experience during and beyond treatment

Treatment and care grants focus on projects which fall under one of the following areas:

  • Living well with and beyond cancer, especially reaching communities or demographics facing health inequalities
  • Improving hospital services across the region and the environment at Weston Park Cancer Centre
  • Projects led by or co-produced with people with lived experience of cancer

Small grants

Our small grants (up to £1,500) can be used for any project that benefits people in our region affected by cancer.

Large grants

Our large grants (more than £1,500) are reviewed by our Grant-Giving Committee.
