Children and young people’s service
Our children and young people’s service offers specialist emotional and therapeutic support for those aged 4 to 18, coping with a diagnosis in the family, or grieving the loss of a loved one.
For children and young people affected by cancer
We are pleased to offer a service for children and young people, providing specialist emotional and therapeutic support for those aged 4 to 18, coping with a diagnosis in the family, or grieving the loss of a loved one.
We work with children and families primarily across South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire, creating a safe and nurturing space where young people can express their feelings, make sense of their experiences, and begin to move forward with their lives.
What to expect
We offer short-term therapeutic support (up to eight sessions in total), which includes:
- An initial consultation with a parent or carer
- A series of one-to-one sessions with the young person
- A final review meeting to reflect on progress and next steps
Where appropriate, we may also offer joint sessions for children and their parent or carer.
Whether you’re a young person coping with a cancer diagnosis in the family or a parent looking for support, our team is here to help - with empathy, experience, and care.
