Trail For Good's FAQs
Q1. Is trail running like fell running? Sort of, but trail running is less focused on steep hills. You can find some flat(ish) trail races.
Q2. Are there a lot of kit requirements? Every race is different, some would only require a pair of trail shoes while others will require you to carry water, an emergency blanket, wet weather gear or similar. Each event will tell you what is expected on their site. All this kit can be expensive, but there is A LOT of nearly new kit on sites like @vinted and repairing kit has never been cooler. You can fix holes in shoes, replace zips and even reproof waterproof coats at events like our Run & Repair sessions.
Q3. Are all trail races long distances? Nope. You'll find everything from 5km to ultra distances. For example, our events have a short route which will be around 4-5 miles.
Q4. Do I need to be able to navigate? Some events will require you to, but most don't. There will be signs, flags and marshals out on course to guide you around.
