Types of large grants
Important: please note our large grant funding is currently CLOSED. Please check back here for current status.
Large grants (more than £1,500) are reviewed by the Grant-Giving Committee. The Committee is comprised of trustee members with experience in the field, (we don’t currently have patient representatives on the committee). The Committee make a recommendation to the Board of Trustees, who make the final decision.
Our research grants fund research projects to improve our understanding and treatment of cancer, by investing in medical, scientific and care-related research that can enable people to live longer or better lives with or beyond cancer. This includes pre-clinical lab projects, clinical trials, and studies into the cancer experience.
Read more about our current research projects here.
Our research grants will also undergo external peer review by experts from national and international institutions. Applicants are invited to suggest reviewers or to request specific reviewers not be contacted. Applicants are given the opportunity to respond to reviewer comments.
