Small grants
Our small grants (up to £1,500) can be used for any project that benefits people in our region affected by cancer.
About our Small Grants programme
We are proud to give small grants, worth up to £1,500, to projects and services that benefit people in South Yorkshire, North Derbyshire and Bassetlaw affected by cancer.
Applications are accepted all year round. Applications are reviewed monthly, generally the last week of the month.
Anyone whose idea or project meets our charitable objectives and have the intended purpose of supporting people impacted by cancer within our region.
You could work in Weston Park Cancer Centre or one of its affiliated sites including staff from both primary and secondary care sites. We also approve grants from a range of applicants including individuals, community groups, local businesses, universities and schools.
All small grants applications are reviewed by the charity’s Small Grants Committee, an internal panel of staff from different departments. The Committee have been delegated authority to make the final decision on grant applications by the Board of Trustees and CEO.
Our application process is open and transparent and will be communicated to applicants at all stages.
The committee generally meet monthly, and we aim to have a decision communicated to applicants within 6-8 weeks of receipt of the application. In some instances, this may take longer if further information is required.
If your application is approved by the Committee, we aim to provide grant funding as soon as possible to get your project started.
Our small grants are aimed at any project that benefits those affected by cancer across the region, which aligns to our charitable objectives and core goals: to enable research, enhance treatment and provide support for people affected by cancer in South Yorkshire, North Derbyshire and Bassetlaw.

These conversations can be incredibly challenging, but they’re so important for children and young people.
