Barnsley backing for Weston Park sees front of shirt sponsorship!

We're incredibly excited to be Barnsley FC's front of shirt sponsor for the Reds' opening game of the 2022/23 season against Plymouth Argyle!

The match shirt sponsorship for the opening fixture of the campaign signals a new step in the relationship after the 'Together at Every Step' initiative between the Reds and Weston Park was launched last season.

The match-worn shirts will be signed by each respective player and auctioned off, with the money raised being donated to Weston Park Cancer Charity.

Furthermore, Barnsley's fixture against Sheffield Wednesday at Oakwell this season will be the Weston Park takeover day game on 28 January 2023, in addition to a number of other exciting collaborations in the offing.

Twinned with the match shirt sponsorship, the Club's Marketing, Business and Commercial Director Andrew Clark arrived in Plymouth this week on two wheels after cycling over 300 miles from Oakwell in aid of Weston Park!

You can still donate to Andrew's fantastic achievement here!

Darren Hayes, Head of Fundraising at Weston Park Cancer Charity, praised the move and is looking forward to seeing the Reds walk out at Home Park adorning the charity on the shirt:

"We are extremely grateful to Barnsley FC for their continued support and this latest move as part of our ''Together at Every Step' initiative means the world to us as a charity.
"We know the impact that our work has on the local community in Barnsley, and it makes us so proud that we can represent the town in this way by being on the front of the shirt of the Club in its first game of the new season.
"Moreover, Andrew's efforts on his bike this week have been commendable, and I hope people continue to donate for a fantastic achievement to raise as much money as possible.”

Khaled El-Ahmad, CEO of Barnsley FC, added:

"We are proud that such a fantastic organisation such as Weston Park Cancer Charity will be on our jersey for the first match of our new campaign on Saturday.
"The work they do in the local community cannot be put into words, and we as a Club are delighted to be able to have the opportunity to help support them on their mission. We will continue to build on our relationship with Weston Park throughout the season as it is a strong part of our identity as a community Club."

Details of how supporters can bid for a match-worn shirt from this Saturday's opener at Plymouth will be announced in due course.
