We’re excited to be one of the benefitting charities of a unique exhibition football match which will take place in Hillsborough in May.
The Sheffield Wednesday Legends vs Czech Republic Legends game, organised by the Owls, the Sheffield Wednesday Community Programme and popular former Wednesday player Daniel Pudil, will take place on 14 May to support Weston Park Cancer Charity and Real Top Praha in the Czech Republic.
Hillsborough will also host a special ‘An Evening with the Legends’ event in the stadium’s 1867 Lounge the night before the game on Friday 13 May – also to support Weston Park and Real Top Praha - which has now SOLD OUT.
Presented by BBC Radio Sheffield’s Rob Staton, the first event will take in a Q&A with the players, pie and peas supper, photo opportunities, unique prize auction, a magician and more.
Tickets for the game are £6 for adults and £3 for concessions.
All proceeds from both events will be donated to Weston Park and Real Top Praha.
Darren Hayes, our Head of Fundraising, said: “It means a lot to us to be one of the chosen charities for two exciting events at Hillsborough.
“A lot of work has gone in behind the scenes to arrange both events – we’re extremely grateful for the support of Sheffield Wednesday, the Sheffield Wednesday Community Programme and Daniel Pudil.
“The monies raised by these events will help us be there, at every step, for people facing cancer by enabling research, providing support and enhancing treatment.”
Former Sheffield Wednesday star, Daniel Pudil, said: “I would like to thank Sheffield Wednesday and the Community Programme for hosting these events. We hope many people will come along and support the legends and help raise lots of money for charities in both countries.”
